How to Turn Off the Replace Brake Pad Ligh On A 2003 BMW525I
There are a lot of different theories about a continuous Brake sensor light. If you are certain it needs to be replaced it will take a little work. Ideally when you change the Brake pads that is when you should replace the light and any worn wiring. It can be reset but if it is damaged and needs to be entirely replacing it you will have your work cut out for you. Search as we might we were only able to find references to resetting the darn thing.
If your brake sensor light prompted you to replace the pad then that means it is irreversibly worn so you will need to change it at the time you replace the pads. If you do not, the light will always remain on because the sensor wires are still exposed. It is a simple matter of disconnecting the sensor and plugging in the new one. After that you just snap the new sensor into the gap in the brake pad. If it still is on you will have to put the key into position 2 and wait for about 30-45 seconds this should do the trick.
